Stephen M. Llano (Ph.D., University of Pittsburgh; M.A., Syracuse University; B.A., Texas A&M University) has taught public speaking, argumentation, and debating for 20 years at the high school and collegiate levels. He researches and publishes regularly on the art of teaching oratory, speech, and debate. He has published on the rhetoric of the Beat Generation, and researches the rhetoric of Buddhism and the history of the teaching of debate in the United States. He currently serves as an Associate Professor of Rhetoric at St. John’s University in New York City.
