Listening to a DJ Shadow mix (Essential Mix) I downloaded last night and boy is it good. I could listen to this all day. Too bad it’s only an hour.

Last night was the premire here in NYC of the new movie the Great Debaters and some of my students got tickets to the showing. They said it was a cool experience with food, drink and celebrities from the film all over the place. What a great opportunity, and IDEA made it possible.

I’m hoping the film highlights debate and doesn’t just use it as a platform to talk about racism. Somehow I think racism will be the star, and debate will be a minor player, or a set (quite an exotic locale) as often happens in debate films.

More on the film after I see it, but today is filled with writing and an evening out and about!
